Prudentia awarded cash prizes to the best students of Mergers & Acquisitions course

Best performing students of M&A course at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, organized by AS IBS Prudentia, visited Prudentia’s office on May 28. International student team received cash prizes and chance to come to Prudentia for a summer internship.

Cash prize of 2000 EUR received best M&A course team, which consisted of Daniel Mititel and Tudor Poiana from Moldova and German Lapsa and Kārlis Ločmelis from Latvia.

Even though Prudentia has been supporting best Stockholm School of Economics in Riga students with cash prizes already for 10 years, this year is the first year when Prudentia organized self-made elective course. It is expected that Prudentia’s leading employees will continue to share their experience with university students every year.

During the course students had a chance to get acquainted with detailed Baltic M&A market development, M&A transaction steps, and comprehensive case study of company sales side transaction. Also students learned about company’s value drivers and their comprehensive analysis, and financial modeling basics.

Prudentia’s board members Ģirts Rungainis and Kārlis Krastiņš, as well as associate directors Dace Medne and Andrejs Golubčikovs were involved in development and teaching process of the course.

„This course proved that Latvia has no shortage of educated and ambitious young people who will be able to build our country’s future. Final project demanded students’ dedication and hard work, despite the fact that it was very time consuming, students work was done in very high quality. It was very hard to reach an agreement which team was the best” said Prudentia’s chairman of the board Kārlis Krastiņš.

Prudentia has been a long term supporter of various education promotion activities. Company also supports education program “Mission possible”. Prudentia has been awarding students of Stockholm School of Economics in Riga since 2005.
